It’s so great to meet you. Here’s how I can help YOU

Welcome to Occupelvic Health & Wellness, a retreat from the stressors in life. A place to find comfort, healing and exploration in your pelvic health journey.

Did you know? One in three women will have pelvic floor dysfunction in their lifetime. It’s not something women commonly talk about or even seek help with until we already have symptoms of pelvic floor dysfunction or are facing major life changes like pregnancy & postpartum. Symptoms like urinary leakage or frequency, constipation, pelvic & low back pain or discomfort during intimacy are often just “dealt with.” Women are busier than ever-juggling careers, families, households and relationships. Do you deal with severe periods every month or not know if you can even get in/out of your car for work due to the pain? I see you. You’re looking for something more.

You’re looking for Occupelvic Health. Pelvic health for every day occupations. Our everyday occupations like getting dressed, going to the bathroom, showering, driving, intimacy, going to the grocery. If you struggle with any of those things. I can help you. Your recovery needs more than just a few exercises and nutrition tips. We are complex beings and a truly holistic approach is needed. An approach that will not only address your physical symptoms- but how your body responds to everyday stressors. An approach that encompasses the whole you: mind, body, and spirit. Because right now your spirit might be a little broken-and I can show you the tools you choose to take with you along your recovery.

I’m Karla Ehlers. As an active woman and pelvic health specialist, I’ve experienced how in the dark women feel regarding the changes which occur in our bodies throughout our lifespan. It’s time to make women’s health a priority—I help women regulate and retrain their nervous system to improve pelvic health & pain to live a meaningful life

Your Pelvic Health Matters

I am a board certified Occupational Therapist following graduation from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences in 2015.Throughout the years, I have helped thousands of individuals improve their confidence, independence, and embrace their self care routines through a holistic lens. I’ve taken numerous pelvic floor specialty courses from occupational and physical therapy leaders in the pelvic health field like Lindsey Vestal, Lynn Schulte, Sarah Duvall, Nicole Cozean, and Tracy Sher. I am passionate about the connection between our pelvic floor and nervous system and how our daily habits and routines directly affect our pelvic floor and it’s functions. I’m excited to facilitate advocacy, acceptance, and understanding of my clients’ bodies while prioritizing women’s health throughout the lifespan. I look forward to connecting and supporting you.

I am married to my husband, Karl-yes we have the same name! We left our full time therapy jobs in Little River, SC in 2022 and moved into our 32ft travel trailer to travel the US as travel occupational and physical therapists.
