What to Expect in a Virtual Pelvic Health Consultation

It's no secret that pelvic health can be super awkward to talk about. But women cannot get the help they need if they don't talk about it. During your virtual pelvic health consultation, work with pelvic health specialist Karla Ehlers to help you feel comfortable and empowered to tackle your pelvic health concerns.

Why is Virtual Pelvic Health Beneficial?

Virtual pelvic health is for you if you have a busy schedule, prefer to stay at home instead of going to a clinic, have transportation limitations, or have difficulty finding child care. At Occupelvic Health and Wellness, you will be empowered with the education you deserve to know about your body to promote healing and see improvements in:

  • Leaking urine when laughing, running, or playing with your kids

  • Pelvic pain

  • Core weakness

  • Frequently going to the bathroom throughout the day

  • Low back and/or hip pain

  • Feeling pressure or "heaviness" in your pelvis

  • Return to exercise postpartum

How to Book Your First Virtual Pelvic Health Session

  1. Click here to schedule your Virtual Pelvic Health Program

  2. I recommend the 3 session package (typically spaced out every couple of weeks to give you time to incorporate strategies into your new routine)

  3. Choose the best date and time to schedule your initial consultation. Please skip scheduling the other 2 calls; we can do that later! You will then receive an email to fill out the paperwork and waiver.

  4. Receive an email with the link for your virtual video call!

What to Expect Before, During, and After Your Scheduled Call?

  1. You will receive an email with the paperwork and waiver. Please sign and fill it out before your call.

  2. You will receive an email link for the virtual video call. Please try to find a private and quiet space to have the call.

  3. During the call, we will discuss your primary concerns, how they impact your daily activities, and ways to improve them. You can wear whatever clothes you're comfortable in—you will keep your clothes on the entire time!

  4. After the video call, you will receive an email with a customized home program geared toward achieving your goals.

  5. Identify time and location within your week to work on your home program: what days/times work best for you and your busy schedule to get the most out of reaching your goals?

I'm Postpartum, and I Don't Have my Follow-up Doctor's Appointment Until 6 Weeks After my Delivery. Can I still Work With You?

Yes! I specialize in postpartum recovery and believe that postpartum women need more support after delivery. A few examples we can focus on are safe incision care, inflammation management, rest/sleep routines, gentle and safe movement strategies, safe lifting techniques, addressing emotions, and breathing techniques.
